"My Formula for Success."

Has anyone ever asked you, What's your "Formula for Success?" That question is asked of me at least 2 or 3 times each week! Many people visit my website and e-mail me their questions or ask for my advice or opinion. Others see my articles (posted at some 19 websites on the Net) and e-mail me for a copy of my latest article.
Other writers and publishers tell their readers about me and I get more e-mail. Still others respond to my ads posted at various locations and request a Free Sample Report, or request a free copy of my twice-monthly e-mail Newsletter called "HomeMoney.".
I get rave reviews from readers of my articles and my newsletter. I also get cash orders sent to me in the mail, for my Reports; for my Books, for ads which others send, for me to place in my next issue! So, I've had some success. But, a not really a "formula." That is until now.
Here it is: ("Hp + Gv (-$) = Ac + Gt + Tst = Sales")
What's all that mean? Well, the "Hp" stands for "Help." I give Help or Assistance to others! I try to give assistance whenever I can; to answer questions; to help newcomers; to help new, potential customers, or anyone who has a question, who needs advice or assistance! If you help others, you will help yourself! Someone once said: "Help Others to realize THEIR Dream, and your OWN Dream will be realized in the process."
The "Gv (-$)" - stands for 'Giving, without charge!' Give away a free sample; a free autoresponder,.. a free ad,.. a free webpage,.. etc. Anything that you can "give away" makes potential customers more willing to do business with you! Have you ever gone into a Market and found someone there by the door, with a hot-plate, cooking something, and offering "a free taste" to everyone who comes in? You take a bite & if you like it, you might buy one!
So, if at all possible, give something away free! Not your whole business,... just a few "bites" - enough to get people to try it; to read your free report; your free booklet; to get their first box free! It's hoped that once they have "had a taste" of your products, that they will buy more of what you're selling!
The "Ac" - means that people will be more "Accepting" of you and your products, and will like what you gave them ( - $ = minus money!) Maybe they'll like how you helped them, how you gave them a few free samples; they'll remember your generosity and helpfulness, etc.
The "Gt" - means people usually will be "Grateful".. they'll enjoy and appreciate what you did for them, how you helped them, gave to them, etc. Gratitude can result in Acceptance of you and your products, and that can result in customers placing their TRUST in you,...
The "Tst" - stands for their TRUST in you,.. and that's the KEY! Get people to like you,.. accept you,.. be grateful for what you did for them,.. and to trust you,.. and they will order from you .. and that means SALES and Profits!
I hear it all the time: "I've put up my web page,.. and I've listed it with every Search Engine, but, I'm not getting many visitors and I'm not making any sales!" Simply by posting your webpage somewhere doesn't mean that everyone on the Web will automatically find you and visit your site, and order something from you! It just doesn't happen that way!
It begins as any RELATIONSHIP begins: with a next-door neighbor, or between a boy and a girl. First you SEE the other; maybe you exchange greetings; maybe you have a dinner together; you are friendly; you smile; you "do something special" for that other person and on and on. The relationship BUILDS,.. It's the same with your customers: they see your business (your website); they get to know you, you do something for them, they do something special for you; they start to believe in you, to respect you, and to TRUST you! People will order from you only AFTER there is trust!
A SALE (a transaction) happens as the result of a relationship built up between a retailer and a customer! Sometimes, professional sales-people can present their sales-message to you, and they talk, and smile and they show you all the benefits, and they impress you, and you get emotionally involved, and you may order something "in the heat of the moment." But, many "high pressure sales" can be lost the following day, once people come down off their "high" and return to reality; realize what they've done and back out of a sale! There wasn't trust there, no relationship, no real TIME was spent to get to know each other! It happens, and sales can be made that way, but, most long-time, repeat customers are gained and kept over TIME. They come back and buy again and again from you, because there is a relationship there!
Ask any of your customers, to tell you if they will, just exactly WHY they bought something from you. Some will say that you were able to provide something they needed,.. that you were there "at the right time, with the right product." Some were immediately "infatuated" with your product or service and ordered a small quantity, but, haven't come back, maybe because it wasn't what they wanted or it didn't live up to expectations, or whatever.
However, most repeat, satisfied customers will tell you they BELIEVED in you, or TRUSTED you or your products. That's why they ordered from you, and that's why they will keep coming back. NOT just because of the product or service, but, because of the TRUST they have in you or in your products.
Look at what you buy and why you buy it! You believed in it,.. you trusted the company, or the person you bought it from! So, work on your relationships with your customers. Stay in touch; give them free samples; do things for them; help them; give them "just a little bit more" than that other business! Be friendly; remember their names; greet them by name, etc. It all helps to BUILD UP TRUST in you and your business. That's the Key! That's my "Formula for Success."
